What is the Add on 2x Base Plates?
The Add on 2x Base Plates is an expansion for the KryptoDots Backup Kit. The KryptoDots Backup Kit contains all components to create most reliable and secure backup. There are already two KRYPTODOTS base plates in the KryptoDots Backup Kit which can make a backup of two Ledger Nano wallets or two Trezor wallets (and most other wallets that are on the market and also use BIP39 protocol).
If you need more base plates to backup your wallets, you can easily order extra KRYPTODOTS Add on 2x Base Plates. The Add on 2x Base Plates consists of two KRYPTODOTS base plates with space for 2 x 24 words. With one Add on 2x Base Plates you can make a backup of two Ledger Nano or two Trezor wallets.
You can share the KryptoDots Backup Kit with friends and family, so that they only have to order an Add on 2x Base Plates to back up their wallets.
Multiple backups or counter-punch option
The KRYPTODOTS add on 2x Base plates contains 2 base plates. On every KRYPTODOTS base plate you can engrave 24 words (12 words per side). This means that you can engrave a total of 48 words using KRYPTODOTS add on 2x Base plates. If you choose to use the spare plate as a counter-punch, it’s up to you if you decide to use it to engrave another set of words, this decision mostly depends on the traces degree left on the surfaces of the base spare plate.
The Ledger Wallet and Trezor use 24 backup words as standard. This means that with one KRYPTODOTS add on 2x Base plates, you can make a backup of two wallets.
